Working on her fourth body of work, a collection of personal experiences and reflections, exploring themes of patience, balance and growth, Elektric has just released her new video “The Brighter Side”.
The self-acclaimed melody warrior, fusing R&B, Indie and Hip Hop, tells stories through a British melodic rap songwriter style. At the sweet age of 25, Elektric explains her music as therapy, and never fails to leave her crowd singing along. Likened to UK legends such as Estelle and Ms Dynamite her music is made for the storytellers and the soul searchers.
Born in Leamington Spa and raised in Birmingham, Elektric was destined to be a performer. Having toured with “Floetry’s’ The Floacist in 2015 as part of the ‘Say It Loud’ tour, Elektric has been supported frequently by BBC WM, BBC Radio 1 and BBC 1XTRA. She was also recently featured on Brum Radio’s 2016 Year in Music.
The Theatre Practice graduate was cast for The Broke N Beat Collective which commenced January 2016. It was a collaborative Hip Hop puppetry theatre show, which was taken on tour with 20 Stories High and Theatre Rites.
The single itself, “The Brighter Side”, addresses a story of the personal struggles faced, and a clearer way of thinking to deal with them. This being another concept single that Elektric is pleasing her audience with.
Elektric will be performing on January 14th 2017 at The Remembrance of Martain Luther King Day at The MAC, Birmingham.
Now, working on her upcoming project, yet to be titled, expect to hear and see some exciting things from Elektric in the coming months!
