crowdfunding

Welcome to the twenty-ninth instalment of our weekly series: The Kings of Kickstarter.  After a brief New Year hiatus, we return with more crowdfunded genius.  Our last Kings brought some serious design to the table, from laser keyboards to upcycled skate deck frames.  As per usual, NUBI has procured 5 Kings (and of course one jester) and presented them below.  Now ranked in descending order, only one can claim the title of Supreme Overlord.

#5.  Kurv Guitar – Kurv Music

“Kurv is a ‘stringless’ digital guitar that allows anyone to learn and play songs using touch, motion and gestures.”

crowdfunded

Guitar Hero never really resonated in the NUBI office for reasons only South Park can explain.  However Kurv is a different matter entirely.  Aimed at those seeking to learn guitar or those who just want to practice in public, you’ll soon be standing in the most inappropriate of places laying down a guitar solo Snowy White would be proud of.  The Kurv pad is a virtual fret board, detecting your fingertip pressure and converting it to sound.  Likewise the pick detects motion, giving you the same range of plucking, picking and strumming as in a real guitar alongside tempo.  This is all fed wirelessly via Bluetooth through the Kurv mobile app, allowing you to feed to headphones, speakers, or anything else with a 3.5mm jack.  Air guitar just got a whole lot more legitimate.
