Kings of Kickstarter

Welcome to the twentieth-fifth instalment of our weekly series; The Kings of Kickstarter.  Last week found us 30,000ft up amongst the mighty clouds of the Kickstarter Stratosphere.  Great Cirrus clouds harbouring a silver lining of genuine genius amongst the grey.  From deaf super-heroines to designer chain mail, The ruling elite of last week raised the bar to new heights, daring their next royal charges to better their offering.  As per usual NUBI has procured 5 Kings (and of course one jester) and presented them below.  Now ranked in descending order, only one can claim the title of Supreme Overlord.

#5.  An urban breathing mask – Airinum

“The quality of the air we breathe daily affects our health and well-being. In our ever more crowded environment, air quality has constantly decreased.”

Kings of Kickstarter

Where you live in the world very much denotes whether you would need one of these but that doesn’t stop it being a good idea.  Occasionally even in smaller urban centres you’ll see the odd cyclist or commuter with a dust mask/Bane prop covering their nose and mouth.  However the state of air in many cities around the world is a genuine cause for concern, just take a look at this air quality map.  What Airinum are offering is an urban breathing mask that takes into consideration our regard for how we look – often at the expense of our health.  WHO figures estimate globally around 7 million premature deaths are caused by air pollution, nevertheless unless your health is obviously affected it just isn’t something we ever think about.  With 3 different filters – active carbon, electrostatic and micro fibre – tucked behind the aesthetic outer layer, 99% of particles are filtered out of the air you inhale.  For cyclists constantly caught in the exhaust trail of the vehicles they share the road with, this is certainly one to consider, now and in the future.
