This year, the UK has already seen the Grime and Rap scenes go global. UK artists are having more of a global footprint in music than ever, in particular with Grime and UK Rap.

2016 alone has been a big year, with three of the UK’s biggest names having already dropped albums. Skepta with Konnichiwa, Giggs with Landlord and Kano with Made In The Manor have all been big hits and charted in the UK Album charts.

However, the year is not over. Here is 5 more UK albums we can expect to be dropping soon…

#5 Wretch 32

Wretch 32 is to drop his next studio album Growing Over Life on September 2nd. Late 2015 saw the London MC drop a collaborative EP Young Fire Old Flame with young emerging MC Avelino following their epic Fire in The Booth with Charlie Sloth.


It’s been a long time coming for Wretch since the release of his last full studio album Black and White in 2011.

#4 J Hus

The young East London rapper made his name after his tracks like Dem Boy Paigon gained huge underground success without so much as a video. Following been brought out to hyped fans at Wireless twice, the debut EP The 15th Day had dropped and major labels started listening.


J Hus is yet to release a full studio album, despite talk of it happening this year.

#3 Lady Leshurr

Not much needs to be said about this one. Turning down a deal from Atlantic Records in 2013, Lady Leshurr’s Queen Speech series have racked up tens of millions of views. She became extremely popular and now, has just released a single with Wiley Where Are You Now?

#2 Wiley

Godfather will be Wiley’s 11th studio album. After a short lapse in which Wiley Tweeted the album won’t be coming anymore (followed by a release date Tweet), the Godfather is due on September 2nd 2016.

#1 Stormzy

We’ve been waiting for this one. Stormzy has been dropping banger after banger, and in an interview with Tim Westwood he finally revealed his album should be expected this summer. The summer is almost over, but we should hopefully see it drop before the end of the year.
